Get ready to embark on an extraordinary sense-adventure, as we explore the world of spices. Not only does this journey take us around the globe, but also through time!
We will learn about individual spices, where they come from, their historic and geographic importance, and their flavor possibilities, as they are mixed and matched in traditional combinations, like Baharat, Ras al Hanout, Shichimi Togarashi, Za’atar, Garam masala, to name a few. Once we’ve learned about the characteristics of each spice, we will invent our own unique combinations.
And, of course, we will be cooking our way through each day, flavoring our vegetables, meats, fruits, grains, beans, desserts, and beverages with this rich arrays of spices.
Friday we will recreate our favorite dishes to share with our families at our final celebration.
